Marshian feast and fire.

It’s that time of year, and with the unusual dry warm weather we decided to go out and celebrate.

May marks the start of summer, and is also an excuse for feasting and fire. So we headed to a spot in the marsh as far away from town as we could.

As the sun set we headed west, to a little grassy corner.

We indulged in a feast by firelight.

And then went to look for Badgers. We’d left it a bit late and only got some fleeting glimpses.

Most of us went home but the sane ones stayed overnight and headed for work at dawn. We were not only treated to a fine dawn chorus but a splendid sunrise to welcome in summer.
