The first proper day of summer, the sun came out, it was warm and some great friends joined me for a walk to some of my old haunts and then to Kennetmouth.
Sadly the wildflower meadow at Hills meadow had been cut somewhat prematurely so we were disappointed with that, but otherwise we had a very pleasant stroll.

We paused just over the millstream to look at the “last hope sluice”

At View Island we stopped on the old tennis courts for a chat about turning the island from a derelict boatyard into a little haven.

At Kennetmouth we stopped again to buy the actual book, drink something fizzy and eat some cake. We sipped elderflower cordial and ate cake.

I made some little bookmarks to give to people who bought copies on the day

The highlight for me was watching the Peregrines on the gasometer at Newtown on my way home.

I am hugely grateful to everyone for joining me for the walk, and for getting the book from a dream to reality.
It couldn’t have been a more perfect event, sun out, walking, chatting, listening to all the interesting stuff about Reading, bubbly and cake! I know someone who’d definately have appreciated it’s creation π
Wishing you even more success with sales and future projects.

Hi Adrian, congratulations! But no mention I can see of what the book is called, or did I miss it?
Best wishes
